In simple terms, if technology was a battle field, hackers would be soldiers with highest ranking medals. The kind of soldiers who fight even with broken weapons. This are the kind of people whom opportunity patiently waited for them as they walked out their skills into distinction in a digital world. As a Computer Scientist, I will assure you that this level of knowledge base is not easy to accomplish.

However, this is not a new scenario in the universe. Since time of old, it has always been the glory of thieves to seek and steal treasures. Difference is, hackers don’t just steal. They endeavor to outsmart the world and always fix
As the cyberspace dimensions continues to grow, cyber-attacks are gradually becoming more and more sophisticated. This has pushed governments, companies and intuitions into investing in cyber security. Unfortunately, majority of the cyber security high tech-tools and strategies used simply do not measure up to the task of protecting vastly growing networks from increasingly enhanced attacks. These tools and strategies at a given time are too outdated to keep up with the attackers. Just when we always think we have managed to address a given security concern, cyber criminals on the other side have already figured out another route to the same vulnerability.
Thus, it is definite that the demand for cyber security professionals is growing at a high rate than ever before. However, they don’t have to be just professionals, they need to be highly skilled, smart, compulsive and compelling. As the guardians of cyber security, they should be engineered towards leveraging any liberal ideas and intelligence and use them to horn cyber warfare until they raise the flag of victory against the perpetrators. The hackers do not care what happens on the other side of the fence; to the victim. That is why we need to equip cyber security individuals with the highest level of expertise there is in the digital world.
Obviously, we have distinguished respectable ethical hackers but are they sufficient for a digital world that seems to be unsatisfied with technology until they cook, eat and drink online? We all agree that cyber security concept should have been conceived alongside internet just as war was conceived with soldiers but who knew it will come to this? Back then we all had a fixed sketch of how this community of hackers looked like; a guy living in a dark room somewhere wearing a hood and does not go out. Well, not anymore. The cycle has grown to include juvenile delinquents and even pretty ladies.
It also narrows down to personal effort too. As a company or individual, you should know that your information online or offline define you. Your security is now an illusion since it is no longer served. I am not ignorant on the government laws and regulations set up by different countries to protect its citizens but does the government know where your information is or who has them?
Bottom line is we need to act upon this emerging issue with an immediate effect. There are various ways at our disposure to address this issue but of importance among them all is to establish a pool of highly skilled cyber security professionals with great expertise in machine learning in order to adopt automation in cyber-attacks. To complement and endorse the above measure, we need to transform every single profession to be able to understand this warfare and ensure each of these professions can defend themselves against the cyber-crime perpetrators. Hackers are validated endurers: we definitely need measures and professionals who endure.
